Our
Story
Why we started this collective
The Re:Flow Collective was born out of devastation—and a deep belief in the power of creativity.

Over the past years, the world has witnessed the unimaginable: cities reduced to rubble, communities shattered, and entire generations of children exposed to violence no one should ever see. In Gaza, what was once a sanctuary for healing—a creative center where children could dance, play, and begin to process their pain—was bombed to the ground. Gone in an instant. And with it, yet another space for safety, voice, and expression lost.

Everything was destroyed.
Except the need.
And that need only grew.

Across conflict zones and refugee camps, a generation is growing up with trauma in their bones. Not everyone can speak about what they’ve lived through. Not every place has therapists or clinics. But healing doesn’t always begin with words.

It can begin with rhythm.
With movement.
With music.

The Re:Flow Collective exists to meet this need. We create safe, creative spaces for expression, connection, and healing—places where young people can begin to reclaim their stories and their sense of self.

We do this not alone, but in deep collaboration with local artists, educators, and grassroots initiatives already doing the work. We build on what exists. We listen before we act. Because we believe creativity is not a top-down solution—it is a shared language, a lifeline, and a path forward.

In a world fractured by war, The Re:Flow Collective offers something radical in its simplicity:
The belief that art can heal.
That movement can mend.
And that every child, no matter where they are, deserves the chance to feel whole again.

This isn’t just therapy.
It’s voice.
It’s resistance.
It’s flow.

Our Dream
At The Re:Flow Collective, we dream of a world where young people affected by war can heal—not just survive.
Through music, dance, and creative expression, we create safe spaces where trauma can be released, stories reclaimed, and resilience rebuilt. Our workshops offer more than therapy—they offer rhythm, movement, and connection when words fall short.
We collaborate with artists, musicians, and the global creative community to make healing through creativity both possible and powerful. Together, we are building a movement that places the arts at the heart of recovery and renewal.
Our dream is bold, but simple:
That every child impacted by war has access to the tools, the space, and the community they need to heal—through creativity.

What we are
The Re:Flow Collective is a global movement for creative trauma healing—grounded in rhythm, movement, and storytelling. We work alongside children and youth in war-affected areas, offering a method that is accessible, culturally rooted, and guided by what already exists. This is not about bringing in solutions from the outside—it’s about listening, supporting, and strengthening local initiatives through creative collaboration. Our approach is shaped by neuroscience, carried by artists, held by therapists, and powered by communities. It is deeply human, and driven by the belief that apathy is never an option. By engaging here, we help there. Together, we reclaim hope—through creativity.

The Re:Flow Collective is not a top-down model. It’s a human one. We listen first. We support what’s already there. And we believe that by engaging here, we can help there.
Apathy is not an option.
Creativity is a response.
And healing is a shared responsibility.
Together, we co-create safe spaces where children and youth can express, move, and begin to heal through rhythm, movement, and storytelling.
Join us—support local, act global, and help bring resilience to life through the power of creativity.
What we offer
At The Re:Flow Collective, we don’t arrive with all the answers—we start by listening. Our mission is to strengthen what already exists: the grassroots initiatives, cultural practices, and community leaders already using creativity as a form of resistance and healing. By offering adaptable tools and shared frameworks, we work side by side with local practitioners to make trauma-informed creative healing more accessible, more grounded, and more sustainable.

The Re:Flow Digital Resource Hub
This is a comprehensive platform that equips practitioners with everything they need to lead creative trauma recovery sessions—no matter where they are in the world. At its core is our methodology handbook, a flexible and science-informed guide to Re:Flow’s approach. It offers clear strategies for planning, adapting, and facilitating sessions across cultural and linguistic contexts. Practitioners also have access to workshop plans and templates designed for different age groups and local needs, as well as video tutorials led by facilitators from our global network. These tutorials demonstrate rhythm-based activities, movement practices, and creative techniques that require no prior training.
The platform also includes a curated sound library filled with beats, loops, and soundscapes, and a continuously updated research base covering music therapy, trauma, and cultural healing.
Finally, our practitioner-only community forum provides a space for sharing, reflection, co-creation, and mutual support across borders.

on-demand training and creative workshops
We offer a range of on-demand training and creative workshops for educators, therapists, artists, and youth workers. These sessions are designed to make trauma-informed creative work as accessible as possible—whether in refugee camps, classrooms, urban youth centers, or local community hubs. Through online courses and expert lectures, participants gain practical insight into the science of trauma and the healing power of music and movement.
Our on-demand workshop kits provide structured, easy-to-use models that can be adapted to almost any setting. For those seeking immersive, in-person learning, our flagship Re:Flow spaces offer hands-on workshops led by experienced facilitators—creating safe environments where young people can explore, express, and heal through co-creation.

The Re:Flow Global Network
The Re:Flow Global Network unites artists, educators, and cultural leaders in a shared commitment to trauma recovery through the arts. We work with grassroots collectives—from London rap groups to Gaza dance crews—ensuring our work reflects lived experience.
Through peer mentorship, certified practitioners connect across regions to share insights and co-create new approaches. Artists join as co-facilitators and mentors, contributing to storytelling, resource development, and session design.
International releases, performances, and digital showcases highlight the creativity and resilience of the youth we serve—amplifying voices, building solidarity, and fostering healing.
What sets us apart
The Re:Flow Collective is interdisciplinary by design. We bring together musicians, dancers, therapists, educators, and youth workers into one unified, trauma-informed model—each practitioner contributing their unique strengths toward a shared creative approach to healing. Our method is grounded in neuroscience, psychology, and somatic research, yet comes to life through music, movement, and storytelling. We believe that emotional safety and artistic freedom must go hand in hand.
Every program we run is culturally adaptive and globally scalable. Whether working in refugee camps or inner-city youth centers, we tailor each experience to local languages, rhythms, and traditions—without compromising the integrity of our method. What we offer has been developed and tested in the field, by practitioners who work directly with war-affected youth. Continuous feedback from our global network ensures we’re always refining and evolving.
Above all, Re:Flow is accessible, simple, and empowering. There’s no need for expensive equipment or prior training—every child can participate using their body, voice, and story. And while we support individual healing, we also build community. Through shared creativity and co-creation, we turn trauma recovery into a collective journey.

The Science
Why creativity heals what war has broken
Creative expression isn’t just helpful in war recovery—it’s essential.

When traditional therapy falls short or isn’t available, music, movement, and storytelling offer powerful ways for young people to process trauma. Research shows that creative methods can reduce PTSD symptoms by up to 50%, ease anxiety and depression, and strengthen emotional resilience.

In refugee camps and conflict zones, structured music and art workshops have been shown to improve well-being by over 50%, and boost social connection by up to 75%. Children in war-affected areas like Syria and Bosnia report major drops in trauma symptoms after joining creative programs.
Even simple tools—like expressive writing—help children regain a sense of control over their story.
At The Re:Flow Collective, we build on this growing body of evidence:
That creativity is not a luxury in crisis.
It’s a lifeline.
